Nicholas von der Nahmer was born in Munich, Germany to a musical family, taking his first piano lessons at the age of 5. Although growing up with classical piano and voice lessons he slowly transitioned to more modern, improvised music.
He studied Jazz piano at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston and finished his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
Since then he has performed in countless bands and orchestras.
Nicholas composes as well, having worked for the Theater der Keller Köln and the Schauburg München. He has also arranged Music for musicians of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and written music for short films.
Now he lives and works in Cologne, Germany as a performer, composer and teacher.
